General Conduct Rules

The intent of these rules is to provide a safe, fair and orderly event for participants and spectators. SHS officials reserve the right to change or adjust rules due to safety or other concerns. It is ultimately the responsibility of each participant to ensure that their conduct and equipment comply with these rules. Ignorance of the rules will not be tolerated as an excuse.

General Conduct Rules:

  1. Due to the family-oriented nature of this club, it is expected that all participants and guests practice good manners, refrain from using profanity and follow the rules – No exceptions. Anyone who cannot do this will be asked to leave immediately.
  2. The safety and comfort of our club members, guests and audience is paramount. Any fighting, yelling, aggressive behavior or act of recklessness will result in immediate disqualification and ejection.
  3. Unsportsmanlike conduct of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in immediate disqualification and ejection.   
  4. Once registration is complete, the scoring and announcement table is off limits.  Please do not approach the table for pull results once the event has begun. All results will be posted on the website.
  5. Driver’s meetings: Usually 15 minutes prior to event. Important specifics on the day’s event that all participants need to hear. All participants must be present. Legal guardians must be present for children 18 and under as well. No exceptions.
  6. No one is allowed on the track during a pull other than the tractor driver and SHS officials. The only exception is a parent/guardian in the stock class.  
  7. No driver shall bounce on the seat or stand for any reason while pulling. Driver must keep at least one hand on steering wheel at all times while pulling.
  8. Full-face DOT approved helmets must be worn by all drivers under 18 years old while pulling.
  9. Helmets are strongly recommended and may be required for all drivers at some events (check schedule)
  10. Protective clothing: long pants (no shorts) and closed toe shoes must be worn by all drivers while pulling.
  11. Children must be supervised at all times.
  12. Please clean up after yourselves! Keep parking areas free from trash and debris at all times. If there are no trashcans available, be sure to take your trash with you.

We are a non-profit organization relying on volunteers to help-out.  It is required that everyone lend a hand during set-up and break-down whenever possible
